This is a timewarp condition car. It's unmodified and is in nice original condition.

It's a very early mk2 Jetta, being built in May 1984, originally bought in Sheehy's in Carlow and registered in Co. Kildare. There is only one owner on the log book. You would be the second!

With its 1.6D engine and rare 5-speed transmission (4+E) it still drives like new. While it won't break any land speed records, it'll motor on solidly and reliably for many, many more years. It would be ideal either as a weekend nostalgia car for someone who owned a Jetta in the 80s, a great way to enjoy vintage rallies during the summer months or even as a daily driver.

Being the second owner of this car, you can relax knowing that everything works as it should, the interior, carpets, boot are all nice and fresh except for one small spot on the passenger front seat. It's got a new windscreen and the headlamps have been upgraded with relays. There is an original dealer-fit accessory towbar fitted to the car but the wiring was never added so I'd doubt it was ever used much. It could be easily removed if not required. The paint is all original 1984 VW paint except the top of the boot lid. Because it's all original paint, you'll be able to see that there's ZERO filler in the car. No cheap shiny paint to hide all sorts of sins! There is no rust to be found. The only rust repair carried out was a small spot in either bottom corner of the front screen. It’s been repaired and sealed and is good for many more years to come.

I have carried out extensive refreshing work to the running gear, bringing it all back to original day#1 condition, using top quality German parts whenever possible. I’ve put lots of new parts into it, including: steering rack, track rods, track rod ends, ball joints, wishbone bushes, ARB bushes, front struts, strut tops, brake pads, brake hoses, windscreen, exhaust, heater matrix plus more.

Fresh NCT 24-2-17, eligible for cheap tax and classic insurance.

No offers of swaps please.
