well after our visit to miniature wonderland we left Hamburg heading for Holland
all was well with bob and he was motoring away fine until he developed a rattle / vibration .we checked around the cab and under the dash to see if we could find anything but everything seemed fine so we just kept going .after awhile we decided it was time to pull over for a cuppa tea and a pot noodle so we found a lay by and pulled in . we got out and had a quick look around bob to see if anything was loose the ariel on the front had come loose but didnt look like it could be the scource of the vibration . then pete noticed the front wheel had a rather large bulge in it :eek:hmy: we jacked up bob and took off the wheel and noticed that there was actually two bulges in it this obviously was the cause of the vibration .as luck would have it we had brought 2 spare wheels one big one little so we thought we would be grand . we fitted on the spare wheel had our tea and pot noodles then packed up bob and headed off again . we soon noticed that the spare wheel was rubbing quite badly on some of the bumps and pot holes in the road (yes they do have pot holes in europe :D)
we kept going and when we pulled in to get fuel we noticed that the left hand tire was very badly worn on the inside down to the canvas and wire .as i said earlier we had two spares but we had already used the smaller one umm no choice but to drive on and hope we got to holland and petes sisters . after a steady drive we arrived at petes sisters house where we were again made welcome and had a good nights sleep .next morning we tried to get some tires . now you would think that you would be able to get smart car tires in Europe but oh no they are special order and could take a week to ten days to arrive . we gave up trying to get tires and went shopping for supplies .we found a shop that was selling air matrasses for about 12 euro so we got one that would fit in the bottom of the tent just for an added bit of comfort LOL . when we were ready we left holland for Belgium and EBI . .
