First time at this event and definitely not the last. Relaxed vibe, scattering of all sorts of cars everywhere, the tannoy and the sounds from the track going all day, smell of high octane fuel in the air, people with full race suits mingling with tank tops and string vests...and the weather played ball too.
Fair play to Claire for organising this, we had our own area located slap bang in the middle of the park so the buzz was great all day. Hadn't even thought of taking the 356 out on track until Claire convinced me and then it took a little help from Pete to do the signing on as I'd left my driving license at home. Funny thing was when I had to sit down for briefing I wasn't sure what details Pete had used so that took a bit of bluffing when I faced the same registration lady just two minutes later...
Great to meet all, John, Tsar, Pat, Tony, Darren, etc and to put a face to the name of Andrew - great snaps too from Coxy and Andrew from the day.
Had a blast taking the 356 around the track, hadn't a clue of racing lines or taking corners properly but it was great to have a chance to drive the crap out of it for the sessions...even though it did spin on the practice lap
p)...love this car, it tore up road to Kildare to get there in time, tore around the track a few times then tore home without missing a beat...I'm wrecked though and a good bit deafer after the day...
