Hi, totally new here,

Names Paul and am bringing my bug mad g/f ( '59 for restoration in the garage ) to bugjam 2010 in a rented split window camper.

Was wondering if there's any sort of convoy heading over ? From reading some of the forum i see it clashes with a local meet but still anyone making the trip - we'll be leaving galway on thurs 22nd for dublin to get the ferry over to holyhead then down ...would be cool to join up with some sort of convoy ??

Paul.

Heya Paul, welcome to the forum. As you said, it clashes with what would probably be considered the biggest vintage vw show in Ireland, so there mightn't be much of a convoy coming from the club. But if bugjam doesn't work out for you for whatever reason (though its not on the same par as bugjam), the Eirespares show is good fun :)
Enjoy BugJam :)

Hi there Paul, welcome along. I'm going to be in Eirespares too so won't be making it to BugJam. Introduce yourself in the So You're New Around Here section and post up some shots of the prospective resto. Should be a cool trip from Donegal. Oh yeh, bring us back some pics of BugJam too.... enjoy.

Typical, the one year I decide not to go, someone else is!!!!

Im heading to Le Bug Show in Belguim the same weekend!!! Ive been to BugJam 4 years straight and never met any Irish there on Caddy and Ratboy!!!

Most folk will be in Monard, but go to BugJam, bring wellies, lots of beer and enjoy an awesome weekend thet will blow your mind, VWs will never be the same again and neither will Irish VW shows!! Get there early Friday morning, Park up on the entrance road on the right hand side right against the railing, fook the security if they tell you to move, pitch up about 100m after the kink/road straigthens!! Thats the prime location IMO, if its wet, you can just sit in the van and watch people arrive from the comfort of your front seat! If it wet, you step out of the van, over the railing and ont tarmac, no walking through muddy fields to get to track!

Bring 2 bmx's, its a long walk around the site, a padlock and if your hitting the showers on the far side of the track, get there early in the mornings, otherwise the queue will be an hour long!!!!

Everyone should go to BugJam at least once!

Have a good one!

Fords and Bimmers, tisk!

Your eyes will be opened at bugJam , after that you'll either love Vdubs or hate em!!! Old VWs is a lifestyle whereas other cars are just hobbies IMO.

No other car show is like B-Jam, for a start everyone camps in their vans/cars, then they can race them and show them, or just go a get a few drinks and chill in the dance tent!!! - Mind your bags in the dance tents though!

We're heading on the Wed night for Le Bug Show all going well, if it dosnt work out we'll divert to BugJam!!! 3 T4's on the floor!!!!

I live just over the road from Pat!!!

If you take the A5, I used to park up in a layby at Swallow falls near Betsy Coed!
