The brother in law makes wrought iron gates for a living and had me looking out for one for him for the past few years. I actually never saw one for sale at car boot sales etc. He finally found one but it wasn't cheap.
I know this doesn't help but if I ever see one for reasonable money I'll be pick it up.

i saw two pop up on donedeal last year when one of the lads was looking for one but they wheren't big ones.
theres a site based in the us that shows how to make one.
heaps of work invoved but the lad was doing it as much to practice his skills as he was to save searching and buying one.

Phoned them , and all gone but the €400 euro ones, so I thought I would ask here, you never know !
