Didn,t realise quarter windows would be thin on the ground. I wouldn,t risk damaged frames, as i want this to be a one time proper fix. I,ve had enough grief with my current set up. Thanks for posting guys. I,m waiting for word back on a few enquiries I made today, so at the moment , I'll hold off on buying.

thanks

the inner frame is steel and the horizontal part at the bottom rots like billy-o, hence the scarcity I'd imagine...

foc tim if you wanna try and fix the frams

Thanks darragh, I might take you up on that offer, as nothing else has come up. At least it would give me two opening large windows, thanks to another donation from a member here:D

I think anything would be an improvement on what I have at the moment.

ah it was THE thing to do a million years ago if you had a beetle and a pair of "rad shorts" (ask Coxy) and wanted to bling up your bug. They were poorly thought through though with poxy scrapers, cable-door stops otherwise the stock door check strap would smash the glass if you closed the door with the window wound down and the glass would slump forward on the stock lifter channel so by rights you should have had the ('65-only I think) lifter mechanism with two-point lifting.

The only seals I've seen that looked better than the usual poxy shite ones are on Glenn & Colin Williams' blue custom beetle, they curve up at the front end to match the shape of the window frame and Glenn says they actually seal the glass...

best solution these days is to do as Tim is, swap back to stock windows...

Break ins with 1 piece windows are also a consideration.

Sorry this makes no sense to me??? Can someone translate?

Means you have cornered the market on quarter windows, and subsequently will make a killing on the sales:p

Or...........as the windows are available, will they include, frames, seals, vert piece, handle ect. And given the opinion of some posters that one piece are crap.............which they are, he is undecided on what to do. Go stock, anything else is not as good, imho.

E mail me whenever you have a price, thanks:D

Tim,
Depending on how quick you need them I can bring you a pair to suit a 70's Bug over in my suitcase when I fly over next. To compensate you for all of the slagging off you have gotten I'll give you a pair. :^) If you need them quickly I'll box em up and you pay shipping.
