Welcome to Eircooled
Our Ethos is simple; We promote, maintain, and encourage the use of classic aircooled vehicles. We run the club in an open, inclusive, and democratic environment. We encourage all members to have an equal say and part to play in the club.
Families & partners are encouraged to come along to see just what a great job they do at Barretstown. And besides all that, it's a castle in Kildare where they get to play and do fun things!
Just in the door now. Stopped into Junction 14 on the way back for some food and a natter with Trev and Duts. Brilliant night.
There were 7 cars there, 6 VWs and 1 Renault. Between us we moved 120 children, 41 volunteers and 20 staff. I think Enda (Deckie's mate) said it all after we dropped the last of the kids to the disco "it's over way too soon isn't it?" and he's right. You really don't see the time going.
Well done to all that travelled. Rocky and the Rockettes travelled from a campsite in Wicklow to be there - first night of their holidays and they headed to Barretstown. Trev and Duts came up from Laois while Liam and Valerie should have been at home packing for their European road trip but they also gave up their night. Deckie's mate travelled from Meath while Mikey came along after work and put off heading to Donegal until afterward Barretstown so I'm sure he's still on the road.
It's commitment to both Eircooled and Eircooled's charity of choice; Barretstown that has to be admired and acknowledged so well done one and all. If you were there you would have seen just how much these kids got out of it so I think I speak for us all when I say it was so worth it..........as always. Hopefully we'll get some more Eircoolers along next time.
We also presented Bernie with a cheque for €500 from Eircooled and she couldn't thank the club enough.
I have some photos on my camera so I'll download them in the morning.
+1 I had such a ball. I think I come away from it with more than the kids do. Very special place indeed. Thanks for letting the Gitane smoking communist in with the uber autos See you at the next one hopefully.
Oh has anybody got any photos on here or another host site. I was too busy being an idiot to remember to take any of the actual goings on.
I genuinely cannot wait for the beetle to be sorted, so I can join in the fun.Everyone that's taken part in this, reckons it's the best craic ever, plus you leave with a good feeling about yourself, bringing smiles to these kids.Well done fellas.
