260s & 280s are the bloated fatty Z cars.
Trev's right - has to be a 240z.

I've been on the look out for one for myself the last few weeks. It seems that it's easier for me to buy a 240z Scarab ( Chevy V-8 conversion) than it is for a stock one. My preference would be a BRE styled or Gruppe 44 styled 240z with the 2.8 engine and 5 speed with rs 200 rear and the Tripple weber sidraft conversion. I have found a very straight early 1970 240z ( spelled very light weight) with engine problems for cheap money. Problem is I have no spare money at the moment.......

wait til I have the Audi sold I might be up for one of those cheap scarabs (never heard that term before!). Non-original engine wouldn't bother me, just getting a rust-free complete example. We'll see... ;)

The nice thing for you is that in Cali, the car won't flake away in the first shower of rain. Sure there's no Datsuns here whatsoever.

My neighbours. Lol

Some close up of the mods

The bonnet spaces to raise it are skillfuly created by me using a few bits of timber and an axe

the exhaust is an old money box but that fell off after a few miles

Gary, I'd be up for a couple or more of those wheels. Do you know what width they are? Are they the ones you see on the roadside mobile billboard type signs where the installers remove one of the wheels to prevent theft?

If you could supply a couple of wheels I could start a new sideline in mobile billboard theft ;)

no seriously, if they're nice and wide and either 14" or 15" I'd be interested :)

NOT a bargain

And

Not on Donedeal.

Although maybe its my eyes but is that an Irish reg? on a Texas motor.

Interesting one - the reg doesn't show on Cartell or Mywheels. Its a US spec bus and as far as I know you don't have to display the real licence plate on the front of the vehicle in some states so maybe its a vanity plate?

edit: pity they didn't go for an '88 reg while they were at it

they are the one's from mobile message boards

we needed to fit brakes on some to use in england

so bought new axl's and they came with more modern looking wheels

i noticed about six in a corner so might be able to get a set of four
