my starter's fucked. Need a good one. I'd rather buy a used one that's known to be working than a poxy Chinese new one.

12V, 73 beetle. The usual craic ;)

Laois, Kildare, Carlow, Kilkenny would be ideal as time is limited before Jumpstart.

thanks :)

it's an option brian but I need it for the weekend.

It starts perfectly when stone cold. Two taps of the accelerator pedal, turn the key, fires right up. When it's hot it's a different story. Starter sounds lazy, spins freely, like the solenoid is only half pushed out.
Oh, it's a Skoda Felicia diesel starter BTW. It used to be a great yoke, very strong at 2kW as opposed to the standard beetle one at 0.9kW (from memory).

might try replacing the solenoid tomorrow to see if it makes it any better. I have a clatter of TDI Bosch starters there I can rob a solenoid from.

Thanks enda. Sure bring it with you, I'll talk to you there. I'm sorted for the moment with the lend Herbie gave me but I'll need one long term.
