Dont worry Trev, its already in my mind! you know the way the car is its the best solution for it! Id loike to build a volksrod someday but I other projects and that you be a big on and I'd rather start with an earlier/better base, so last week it was Baja all the way, leave the filler and fiberglass where it is and cut off both ends! I have all the other bits off my other baja project! But then last night, it was put it back together in grey primer, 4inch chop to a cut and turned beam and a 3.5spline drop at the rear and properly drag it around the road the the fibreglass falls off! I like camber!!!!!!

Then I could baja it after the summer ready for next winters snow!!!!

Oh yeah, why is there pop rivets all along the roof? Dare I remove the roof cloth???

Did I miss something, now that its sold:helpme:

Yep...Rocky had previously sold the car to Dirty1 back in Oct, but Rocky thinking Dirty1 didn't want it because it was still sitting in his garage decided to re-advertise it. I was 100% on taking it but Dirty1 was still interested and came and collected it! ;)

I went home with a '84 Grey 2CV. :D

Michael...did someone else take the Red 2cv since?

I had originally agreed to take the car but was trying to get my shed finished before I took it home! That dragged on and I went for away for a few days after Xmas meaning to contact Rocky but never got round to it! While away Rocky pm'd me to see if I still wanted it and that he was going to advertise it if I didnt, of course I never got the PM coz I was away so the ad went up! That evening I managed to get online and discovered the PM!!!!! - Then I discovered the ad............. and both PMs and texts where sent!!

I shoulda collected the car before but put it on the long finger, thanks again Micheal for holding it for me, she's sitting in a nice dry shed now!

Thanks for clarifying that lads!

No need to store it in a dry shed Tsar, the rain will not affect the fibreglass ... lol

Hadn't noticed the pop rivets .... should have charged you extra for those! :D

I was talking to a guy over the weekend who knows where there is a 2CV van, he spotted it about six months ago but might still be available, i can check it out if you are interested?

See the edge above the gutter where the paint has been removed, well about an inch above it the a series of round silver rings every 3 or so inches. I was wondering what they are and can only think theyre pop rivets sanded back flat!! I must look under the roof cloth but I can only think the guy pup riveted something to it to hold the gutter together as it was rotten, probaly fibreglass not aeven a sheet of steel!!

And how did he bolt on the wings to the fibre glass seeing as there was no captive nuts let alone steel!!!!!

Theres 2 plates of what looks like plastic pop rivited to the front bulkhead where it meets the pan! You know where it usually rots! I dont get so folk, the time taken to patch the car with fibre glass would have seen the steel welded in!

the engine bay shelf was the same, built up from plastic sheet and fibreglass. No metal whatsoever, all glass. That was the nail in the coffin for me...

No problem about the Red one. Glad you're getting all that lovely space back in the garage!

If you here anything about that Van i'd be seriously interested. Missed out on the one on ebay but have my fingers on 2 in france at the moment, but if I could find one closer to home it would save alot of hassle! Tks!
