Hi guys, with great sadness I realised at the weekend that the van won't be going to the picnic this year. The spray job is pushing out a bit too long and realistically I wont have everything back in it's rightful home before September.........

Its up for grabs at €80, in Cork, post/pick-up/whatever. I'd prefer to see it go to one of the forum regulars considering all the advice I've been getting

cheers for the special mention Froggy, have a look at the advert it says forum regular, not an onlooker.
If I was in your position, I would have put my name forward if no-one else wanted it and wouldn't have tried to appear to be something I'm not.
anyway its just my opinion, and your entitled to yours thats what makes forums work.

like i said "welcome to eircooled",
start with a proper introduction and a bit about your bus and who knows we might even become friends...:)

Holy shit..this is one of my main reasons for not joining forums..i have just checked back in, to see all these mesgs...
to be fair to Coxy he is on the ball..i was a regular last year and sign out when i left Ireland for a year...I keep a regular eye on the fourms but i signed back up again last week after talkin to a couple of guys at a meeting in FERMOY,which aircooled took part in..
I have recently bought a BAY WINDOW T2 as seen in photo..
And i was genuinly looking for a ticket to bring my new Baby 1968 Type2 campervan to the picnic...
Anyways i'm not one to get nasty i'll leave that up to Gritz and a few others..at this stage i'm sure brian u have sold the ticket..Sorri you can't make it this year its a pity..hope the spray job works out for u...
I guess i'll look for a ticket elsewhere...Cheers

I have your number and will give you a shout if we can't go, as luck has it (yours, not mine) the gearbox on our MkII has just fucked itself so that might need sorting first. ;)

Guys, take a chill pill. How are we to get any new people on board if the way we guage things are the number of posts? We all started with one post and ok, he may have jumped the gun but the post did say PREFER to go to a forum regular and not forum regular only.
Give the guy a break. You know nothing about him or what help and advice he can bring to this forum. I've seen this on other forums where the bitchiness starts and new people are put off when they are reading through posts and thinking of joining. I'm sure if you look at the posts there are only a handful of regular posters and if they drift away from the forum it will become a very boring place to hang out unless new people come on board to take up the slack.

Are you the guy I was talking to at the show in Fermoy Marts? I was sitting in John's Split Screen Bus doing f**k all for the day. I think your Dad was there too?
Welcome on board. This is a great site and everyone is great at giving advice and assistance. I was really stuck in getting my GT Beetle ready when Kvinyl from Galway offered to rewire it in his spare time and then when it sat for another while Teresa Dollery's husband arrived at my house to bring the car out to his place and got it running and fitted new brake lines etc. Trust me when I say this is a great site with members who really love their VWs and will do anything to help.
