[Wanted: Parts] 2.5 tdi engine

A friend of mine snapped a timing belt on his vw transporter.
We toed it home from mullingar this evening, and had a look, and the news isn't good.
He suspects the worsed, so he asked me if I could put up call for an engine.
The van is a 02 vw 2.5 tdi diesel engine, 5 cylinder. Type 4 transporter.
The van itself is in good shape, so just an engine is needed.
But he would buy a van if he had too.

Does he want a complete motor or head, I think I know of both available, motor is in Wexford but could be gone, I'll findout!!!

I know of afew people had the same problem, and on closer examination, they discovered the head itself got damaged (bent valves), but the block itself escaped without any problems. At the moment we don't know the extent of the damage......who knows?
