I enquired about this T25 for sale in Louisburgh Mayo yesterday:-

I was going to get my Dad to go over and have a look, but there was a guy coming from Dublin on the train to look at it with a view to driving it back to Dublin. I thought ah well that'll be gone at that price, but my Dad called yesterday evening and its still for sale??

Now I'm wondering why the other guy didn't buy it. My dad is on his way over at 12 today to have a look at it.

Just wondering if it was anyone on here, like to know what they thought.

Cheers

Steve

Go view it. Don't worry about why someone else didn't buy it. There could be a million reasons why not. Just buy it if YOU want it.

he probably never turned up. I had a guy on the phone yesterday telling me he was in his car on the way to me to view the Passat I have for sale (this was the first call I had from him, it's not like we had arranged anything in advance) and was kind of annoyed that I wouldn't be home. We arranged a later time that I had to rush back for and guess what, he never turned up.

There are a lot of shitehawks around. Your dude could have missed out on a nince van. It certainly appears to be well kitted out. Rust would be the big thing to look out for...

Trev, I hate selling cars, which is why I probably still have so many of them! The other guy wanted it for a fishing den, and offered sillly money for it apparently.

OK my dad had a look. He said there is a bit of rust just breaking out in the seams, and a few scabs around the lower window frames, and the paint is a bit flat on it. Everything else was ok, drove well, no major leaks, good brakes etc.

Would any of you know what it costs to get a T25 respray done. Not a real professional job, just a freshen up. I don't mind doing the welding and some prep work, just don't know what a typical respray would cost in Ireland.

Thanks

Steve

Im the dumbass who went from dublin on the train. The reason I didnt take it was that it was not as described. I didnt want it for a fishing den! I wanted it to use as a camper beleive it or not. I also did not make a silly offer. I didnt make any offer. The van was a rust bucket in my opinion and would need someone with alot more experience than me to put it right. It needed a new sliding door and rail, All seems were bubling with rust , the roof gutter would have come off in my hand if I pulled at it. Around all the windows had significant rust and god knows what was hiding under the respray. I would say a good bit of welding was required. Also all doors did not line up correctly, especially the rear. By the way the guy then got a bit nasty when I said I would not be buying. hope this helps!

Well your no dumbass, you saved yourself a mountain of work it seems! I didn't end up buying it, I thought to myself I'll only be in Ireland for a year, just spend 2 o3 grand more and get something that doesn't need work or a respray.

Thanks for posting this up!
