I'm a bit shocked at how rough i left some of the bit's years ago tbh Trev.Can't remember if i was trying to weld the firewall with the engine in place,or I was just a bit drunk.I had kept the piece I cut out for years,but looks like it got thrown out at some stage.No one will ever know now with the new firewall
Not much progress with the beetle lately unfortunately.Bought an old lathe,and fixed it up a bit,and made some spacers for the alternator bracket.Was trying to figure out a bracket for the throttle,but haven't finished that yet.Have a few weeks off soon,and hoping to get back at it.
It's a single phase,Smart and Brown..Sabel is the model..ya,I really like the way they're put together Trev..
Just bought another side track from the beetle the other day..at least it's air-cooled suppose
I had a 1950s Smart and Brown for a while too but it was three phase and I never got around to converting it. Sold it on in the end.
This one might have been 3 phase originally Trev,I'm not sure,but the motor has been changed to a bigger one..it came with this cool looking cover for the motor and pulleys,but it doesn't fit the motor it has now.First time in about 20 years I got to use a lathe,so happy out with it
