This was going to be my Bonneville Race car but I used another Ghia. It is just the shell with doors. The doors are complete with windows I believe. I have no interior for it but the dash is uncut. I have lots of little chrome trim pieces for it and may even have the gauges. It's in Black primer now after having the bodywork done and then sanded and primed with 3 different colors of Hi Build primer. It had a small knock on the nose and I had some Black paint left over so I painted the nose gloss Black to make sure that the bodywork was perfect. NO RUST on the body but there is a hole on the panel over the trans, I do have OG metal to replace that and it comes with the Body. This is perfect for a re-shell of an existing car. I have pictures and will add them soon. Christmas deal which will come on the next Container ( could be 4 months) landed in Dublin "including shipping" 1700 EURO. Pictures soon. I have a back window also and if people wanted any of the suspension it could be negotiated. If you want it painted that's also a possibility. It's ready after a light sand to scuff the paint.

As it looks now

Nice ghia, bargain.

Was just wondering Is it cheaper to import a shell into Ireland instead of a complete car? Isn't the VRT like 50 Euro for any vintage car?

Thanks

Steve

since the VRT is so little on a 30+ year old car it's almost negligible. In which case the car/collection of parts is liable for duty and VAT if imported from outside the EU.
Duty is 10% and is levied on the invoice price of the items plus the cost of the shipping, i.e. the landed cost of the items. Then you pay VAT at 21% (have they changed that in the recent budget?) on the invoice price plus the cost of shipping plus the duty. That's right, you pay VAT on the duty. A tax on a tax. Makes no sense.
There is a small workaround though, if you low-ball the invoice price you can save a few quid.

So, with shipping being a large expense from somewhere like the US or Oz, it makes sense to get the best car you can afford. It costs the same to ship a junker as nice car :) Unless the shell is smaller, then it can be fit in with a bunch of other stuff :)
