I was heading up to Belfast, so thought I'd take Zippy along and call in. Weather was shiiiiite - started to rain just as I arrived, and stayed that way for the rest of the day. (The joys of hosting a car show in Ireland!). It was well organised, but not surprisingly, there wasn't the turnout...

I know it's a bit late to reply to this thread - but been caught up with other bits'n'pieces since last weekend and only getting around to catching up with things now....... so here goes :-) Firstly, thanks to all who organised the event - it was a great day. I've looked through photos...

Opel GT.... hadn't seen one before This stood out for me. Didn't touch it, but think it was wrapped (tho may well have been painted in matt black) Hardly a classic..... yet! Hard as nails... there's no reference points here, but I'm pretty sure the pistons from ZIPPY would fit...

Other marques on show: The reg... what a coincidence :-) One of the first cars I owned in my student days(well, not this one exactly!). Due to an infestation of tin worm mine had a silverbody shell, with both doors, bonnet and boot lid all replaced with differentcoloured...

And finally... spent HOURS on ZIPPY yesterday washing, polishing, shining, buffing - the full works - all in anticipation of taking him to MLVW today. Drove him into the garage for the night, then when I went to leave this morning I turned the key, heard the solenoid click then...

Took Zippy on first "real run" in ages.....to the Vintage show in Ballymahon. Some nice metal on parade - and some cars that I used to own, but they weren't "vintage" when I had them!!! Representing the aircooled side of things were: and proof that Zippy is motoring..... think...

Hello again Lads'n'lasses, Still searching for a Beetle....and saw these on CarsIreland and was hoping you might be able to offer some advice/details on them. If I get the chanve I might go to look at one (all........or none) next week...
