You will pay a price for an oval rear cut. AFAIK FBi in Wales/Swansea would likely stock one - at a hefty price. There's a chap on Volkzone doing a roof chop to a 70s beetles - it's either a split or oval rear window steel pressed outer section with the louvres etc n in the text it was remarked...

....your linkage might be very tight or near to seizing - increased pressure on the motor meaning it heats up n blows a fuse - of course being that inaccessible ye can't feel or get an infa red temp reading on it...or maybe a short in wiring?

Is it the hatch wiper motor, or the main windscreen motor? Pretty sure I've both, but I'll have to double check. If you've anything beetle related, I'd consider a a trade/swop. Solid Drivers door/engine/shells etc

I've one spare - read hatch (?)- has inner lower edge rot spread between the pressed holes but outer skin is good.
