I would have thought that the pressure relief cap on the bottle should prevent ballooning of the bottle. Are you sure that the system is entirely free of air.
There is air in the system and I can't find out why. The old tank developed a hole at the top so I bought one of these new ones. Bled the system but still air seems to get in. I tried the pressure test 15psi and couldn't see any leaks. I tried the head gasket test with the blue fluid. No change in colour. No white smoke and no milk on the oil stick. The new tank with blue cap ballooned so I bought another with blue cap for a petrol engine by mistake. The third seems to struggle with the stress and heat. The coolant will flow in to the overflow tank but will not return to the expansion. I now have 4 caps, my original black cap and 3 new blue. I've tried them all and still no change. I also replaced the old overflow pipe. I had to replace the coolant tank about 10 years ago with another old type and had no issues then so that's what has me thinking to try with another old one. I've heard that air could get in through worn threads on the bleed screw when opening? There seems to be bubbles every few seconds when bleeding.
You need the front rad top bleed screw open with it running, n heater on - it's at a higher level than the rear expansion tank.... Start with that .....
You can also use abit of straight sink white waste pipe - 3ft length or as high as ye can get inside the rear of the van to fill n maybe the sinks bottom threaded white ring, or an old expansion cap drilled to accept the pvcv pipe- attach that to the header/expansion tank n fill with water - you'll be burping it here n it might take a while n get messy - if you've an assistant monitoring the front rad bleeder n doing that up till no bubbles n a constant flow

Ye might need to do this a few times but it will get the air burped out since air rises n you are creating a further 'highest water' point with your sink waste pipe attachment to expansion tank....
If there's still air in it, check your front to back plastic pipes - the metal insert rings rot out to branflakes - similarly with the front rad hoses - check the connections....
A lot of folk don't bother with that rear of number plate overflow tank n just cap it off - debates back n forth on that but I'd delete it personally....

Is the header tank and the expansion tank the same? I just have the tank with the dalek cap with a hose to overflow tank behind the number plate.
Yes header tank n expansion tank the same thing - might be looked at old school lingo now calling it a header tank nowadays sorry

It'd be negligible the air from this but if you want to eliminate it - plumbers tape on the threads - a copper washer on the bleed Screw in case yr worried it's run at out of threads below the head of the bleed screw ...
If yr getting bubbles yr going the right way - bleed it repeatedly with it running n let it sit then for 20mins....n repeat the process again....
The system in a T25 - because the water is piped back to front to the rad, has two sectors if ye like, where air can be trapped - front and back/engine compartment -so you try to work out the air out the system alternating between the two - n your expansion cap attachment at rear .... You'll read advice online about detaching the expansion tank from it's mount n hail Mary holding it up above the hatch - that rarely works.... The sink waste pipe attachment negates ye having to do any of that juggling n your raising the systems water level high at the back while you bleed it - the rule constant of air rising it will burp up the pipe so be careful or have you pipe attachment 'standalone' where ye don't have to hold the pipe attachment on....
