[For Sale: Car] 74 Beetle 1300 for Sale - newly restored

Hi all, just finished restoring this beetle and am trying to get a few shillings for it now!

1974 Volkswagon Beetle 1300


Car was fully restored and repainted in June 2010.


Exterior: New window seals and full paint job (7 coats, primer, basecoat, laquer), body and chassis are perfect. All chrome is in great condition too.


Interior: All new carpets, new CD player,


Engine: Running perfectly, new dist cap, coil, ht leads, belt.


Car has a years new tax on it, new plates and vrt paid.

Looking for 3600, but am open to offers! No abuse though please :)

Coxy, bought it off a lad in Kildare, cant remember his name!

Airhead, I restored it myself, have a wee garage in Sligo where I work.

Looks well, what process was the restoration? did you go to bare metal.
Post some pics of before, of the dreaded tinworm and the lovely new metal that you welded in.

Hi there,
Restoration was fairly straight forward. Only stripped to bare metal where there was bubbling in paint.
The metal was in good condition generally, needing very little welding. But where necessary rust was cut out and new metal welded in. (not just filled with filler dont worry!!!)

Pictures would help, how where the gutters? as many pictures as possable.
Was their much bubbling? and where..


Good to hear that you used no filler on the car, makes or breaks a car.

Wow thats a nice car for that money if it realy is all steel,you shouldnt have any trouble shifting it if you have restoration pics.

Gutters were fairly good, few spots of bubbling but only surface.
Didnt say i used no filler! I just used it properly. Was on a tight budget and timescale so did the best i could.
Bubbling around base of front window, below vents and a few bits of rust from stone chips on the wings and a few other places.
Will upload photos....

did you paint over the bubbles or grind back and repair, then paint?

It looks super in the picture above, a real turnaround from what it was before.

For any rust or bubbles i went back to bare metal and worked from there. (welding if there were holes)
