Maybe, but I think motorway driving is important... what are 1200 boxes like on a 1600?

Great fun on take-off (y)

I threw a 1600 motor into a Beetle years ago with a 1200 box. I was going to go for a 1600 box but I couldn't get one so I thought this will do for now but it was brilliant fun off the line and I caught a few guys off guard. Up high it will limit your top speed a bit. Go for the 1200 and have some fun while you're looking for a bigger box.

It's not for me, my beetle is tip-top thank you very much. :ROFLMAO:

It's for Ross, 4th is really whining in his cab. What was it like on the road, screaming at 65MPH?

No, 65MPH was fine in mine but once you hit 70-75MPH then it got loud. It also depends on the exhaust too. I had a screamer on it first and it would do your head in so then I changed it for a quieter one and it made a huge difference. Can't remember the name but a tuckaway should do the job nicely. I can't see Ross driving the shit out of it with the roof down. Mac is going to Cork on Friday so he could bring one down to you. Worth a try eh?

There's a stocker with pea shooters on there now.
No hurry on the box AFAIK, it's just back from the paint shop and it's getting soundproofed and new carpets etc. now. ;)

underside towards the side of the transmission, there's a flat area pointing downwards at an angle (i.e. it's not facing the ground but it's not vertical either. The numbers you need are stamped in, not raised cast numbers. It'll be something like AB123456 not 113.123.123 :)
