Don't go for the cheap ones Tony, they will rust the second they hit the Irish damp! Go for the higher quality stuff if you can stretch to it.
We bought some in Oz from a shop in Sydney and by the time we were leaving they were pretty fooked! Can't remember what we paid but they were really poor quality.
Were they from Wolfsburg West? Their stuff is usually pretty good quality, but I've never seen the hub caps.. Actually hang on, p0x had a badge that was complete shite, can't remember if it was one of theirs though.
I think I'd go for s/h ones though, if they're a few years old and still look OK they should be good for another few years.

Yeah, they were WW alright. We bought them because I said they are worth the extra few quid! Woops! Like all suppliers, they have cheap stuff for sale too however I think they are trying to move away from that now.
Have a set of WW Bay door mirrors.............. gonna return them and wait for Hagus ones...... wasn't particulary impressed...........
I'll tell ya J, it's the fucking bane of my life at the mo'......... I'm constantly bitching to Jon (no reflection on him or his business) about the shit quality of most spurious parts........... I'd happily pay the extra for decent quality...........! Grrrr.............

Good quality old VW parts, that have proven themselves over time. I read somewhere that second hand hub caps still sell for more than any of the new ones at swapmeets and that.

I agree. If you have the time, it's better to restore an OG part than buy spurious shite. All of the exterior trim on Burty is 'new' but it's crap quality. After spending all I did on crap parts I won't be doing it again in a hurry.
I have ordered numerous times from WW and always been happy with their products but bnot their shipping! They use Fedex which means import duty + administration costs on top of high postage.
Lately I order everything from Paruzzi (www.paruzzi.nl). Their hub chrome caps (1950 - 1965) cost just under €50 each but money well spend I think.

Wish I was but like you I have wasted a lot of money on rubbish parts so now I'm determined to push the businesses that I feel are set up by like minded people who have also bought shit for their pride & joy.
The bumpers, running boards, window rubbers, side trim etc is all new on Burty but it all has to be replaced which is really annoying when its only 4yrs back on the road.

I shudder at the thought of buying bumpers and seals etc., if the car hasn't got good ones on already, I can't deal with it.
