wanted type 25 1.7 d head

friend of mine is working on a 1990 type 25 for a customer who is driving it to Rome on Sunday so he needs to find a head for it quicksmart,Any ideas?

have an engine from a 1.6 gtd mark2 golf here-i dont know if the heads are the same? but if its any good to u,u can take it-its fitted to a t25 at the moment

the 1.7 heads a rare enough might be difficult considering the time frame. might be easier to do a engine swap, i'm not sure about the 1.7, but in the 1.6TD vans, the 1.9D VW lump will go in very easy.

yeah he said he would be prepared to do an engine swap if he can find one

the 1.9TD will take a little thinking and planning, the fuel pump is the issue, if you can get the AAZ engine it will pretty much bolt in BUT you need bits off the 1.6TD

The 1.9D you don't have any turbo issues to deal with and might be a short term solution and there should be plenty out there, i know when i have my T25 i looked into it and i could have bought a few 1.9D's for 100-150 euros

Have him get the 1.9D it's a problem free engine and they are dead cheap to come by. I gave a way a Golf with a good running 1.9D in it because it wasn't worth my effort to take it out, cheap as chips.
