I need a thermostat for a 1600 aircooled engine. I am looking for the old type thermostat as opposed to the newer type.

Have a look at this site Tim. Lots of info on stats. I think it is a one man band outfit but seems to be the only source of new stats.
I got a new stat complete with pulley and cable for a Type 4 engine from him and would be happy to recommend him. I explained that I would be subject to customs duties as he is in the USA and he was sympathetic with the description of the goods on the parcel label.
