Wanted Gearbox Coupling Nut

I was so excited at getting the box in situ I stipped the bolt that came off it. I have an 091 box. Part 17 on the fische. I'm in Dublin and don't really want to buy the whole coupling rig.

Flip it, drill and tap the other side.

Take a normal bolt and make the cone in front. Make a bigger tap in the hole and it's done.

What Dustpuppy said. It's much easier to use a 13mm bolt head instead of the 10mm square grub screw which is OG. I have the T-handle 10mm square wrench to take these out but it's a Royal Bitch to do if you don't have one.

Is it the bolt or the coupling thread that's damaged?

The nut in your picture has been "Made"

I'm lost now, to me the bolt looks ok but the thread in the coupling stripped!?

Hi Guys,

This is the bolt and I don't really know much about tapping the yoke or what OG means. Previous picture of the nut was in happier times.

I tried the tapping bit and my missus went apeshit. I must be doing it wrong. Flooded the joint.

Where do I get the tapping gear and what's the go?

Just get a standard bolt that fits and file it to a point.

i picked up a 091 box last week with the coupling still attatched , i`ve no use for the coupler piece so give us an address and i`ll stick it in the post for you

the screw in the picture above isn`t the OriGinal part

You really ought to use the orginal bolt , they have a habit of working loose leaving you on the side of the road with no gears ( thats why VW bored a hole through it and tied wire around it ).
