I'm putting this back up for sale because I've too much going on and not enough time to play. It's rot free as anyone who has seen it can verify. It's the perfect patina'd Bug, in fact, it's the real deal - no fake rub through here! If on the other hand your boat is floated by new paint and gloss it is the ideal basis for a resto........well, I say resto but it would be more of a rub down and respray as opposed to a full on resto - no welding needed. I'll be putting this on VZi and a few other sites as well as here over the next few days but I would prefer to see this stay in Ireland.

  • Patina on OG paint from 1964
  • No rot at all
  • Great history - have 2 previous owners details so would be interesting to find out what they know!
  • OG metal -except the engine lid which was red before I bare metalled it
  • Rare 'small window' pop out rear windows
  • Brand new front safari window
  • New window rubbers all round
  • New door rubbers
  • New trim clips & rubber bungs
  • Blasted & painted wide 5 rims
  • New red band inserts
  • New banded rims - collecting at the Volksworld Show
  • Working 6volt radio recently purchased but not delivered yet
  • Lots of cool accessories just fitted incl. gearshifter lock, bonnet emblem, flying VW bonnet badge from Oz, NOS wipers, dice dust caps, 356 style grills, EMPI dip rear view mirror, single mount antenna etc etc
  • New wiring by Beag incl. modern fuse box
  • Stripped seat frames up front
  • All shut lines are perfect and as new
This is a great car is the most solid one I have ever had but I have to cut the fleet back. With all of the above fitted and sold as is I am asking €4,000 - not much for a car with all of the old and new history attached, that needs no restoration and has never been welded. If you have ever welded channels into a car or have paid someone to do it you will know that this is a bargain - add to that, that this is the last of the small window Bugs and it really is a super deal.

Sort the brakes and you have an instant show car for this season - simple as that (y)

A few pics of the POS as it is now after I gave it a quick polish.

Fuckin great car lads, you wouldn't ship it back for €2,000.

I'm out, but if your in I've loads of shiny black paint that'd work magic on it you could have.....

This a Brilliant car which I had wanted while it was in the states. Cathal had the fore sight to get it first and has done it proud. Who ever steps up to the plate is getting an awfully nice driver which will turn heads everywhere. Good luck on the sale Mr.C!

Foolish I tell ya..FOOLISH!!! ;)

Have you even used the car yet? Why go to all the bother of fitting it out with cool accessories to then sell it off for what can only be described as peanuts? I'd be selling off something else before getting rid of this Cathal. :)

Would love to see this stay in the country and not be snatched up by someone from the UK who spots a bargain!

you really should get some enjoyment out of it after all the hard work you and the lads have put into geting it this far
keep it for the summer then sell if you still want to

I agree with what you're saying but I genuinely don't have enough time for all the cars and I'd prefer to see this one used and enjoyed by someone here. It's a seriously cool car and has so much more potential that there's room for someone to add their own stamp to it. I've another report to do on the fitting of the safari that will go into Volksworld and I'll offer it for sale then too but hopefully it will already be in new hands by then and not only that, hopefully it will be someore here!
