Hi Lloyd. Welcome to Eircooled.
All, this is a buddy of mine. We were both in Sydney at the same time and being VeeDub heads we did some VW stuff but to be honest, the main reason I brought nothing back was that i spent all my money getting drunk with Lloyd! Good times :ROFLMAO:
Lloyd is moving back to Oz later this year so he's a good guy to know in sourcing rust free RHD stuff.
I can honestly vouch for him. I pointed him in the direction of this site to help shift these Ozzy bays and the bug.

BTW, if someone buys one of the cars he might just have to deliver it here and I can go on the lash with my auld pal and his VERY patient girlfriend!

The main thing to avoide is rust and rot! As these are expensive and take ages to fix. whereas everything else is easy in comparison.

hence why buy a car from somewhere dry. usa - steering on wrong side OZ - RHD

I might be a bit bias here as I am trying to sell two buses from OZ. But the bit about buying from a dry place is good advice. Especially after spending a lot of time in the garage with a welder ;-) like years LOL

Speaking of you spending time in the garage, have you even touched your oval since getting back from Oz? .......I thought I was bad with the length of time it's taking me to do the GT but you make me look good :ROFLMAO:

its really sad mate that I don't have the parts, the time, or have been working on the mrs car.

The doors now actually shut but I didn't have the handles and the annoying thing was I had a set of groved doors out in oz that I never grabbed.

I have been sitting in it for a long while going vroom vroom in the garage for years.

make it even better to drive it over the sydney harbour brisge eventually lol

Lloyd, can I ask how did you fit 2 kombi's and a bug in a 40ft container. I'm bringing my 23 window and 65 1500S notch over to Ireland in Feb? Which shipping agent did you use, and which port were they delivered to?

Thanks

Steve

They are all in the UK now. Unfortunately the Bug was damaged by the shippers and has a dent in the roof :wallbash:

I'll try and get more pics from Lloyd. These Kombis are solid rust free & RHD which makes them great value.

you have to find a shipper that will do it. they take the bumpers off everything, jack one kombi up and take the wheels off and put the bug in. hence why you need to trust the shippers. I brought back two splits and a bug fine. the last one they screwed up and damaged the bug. I brought them in from sydney to felixstowe last time was to southampton. where are yours coming from

Good work bring the bug and vans over

Good work bring the bug and vans over

Brought a 68 beetle back in 2002, just about finished the restoration, mostly due to my dads hard work, pics in my album, well worth the effort. Will put few more pics up once the last bits are done. Might pass on this to the auld fella, he might be looking for another project.
