Well guys we have the new website up and running for VW Spares. Just in case its www.vwspares.ie. The front page is all up and info on the body shop I will be updating this on a regular bases with the latest projects. We have three restorations on the go at the moment and all very different.
The online shop is not too far away, I have the pain full job of loading up a couple of 1000 parts. So far I have around 15...done
RuairĂ is doing a few changes as we go along and thanks Ruairi for all the hard work you have put in to the site.
If anyone has any suggestions or ideas for the new site then please let me know and likewise if there is anything you don't like. Give it ago and see what you think about the information and product descriptions etc. I will have more parts loaded very soon.

Thanks
Jon

Nice one Jon, well done. Look forward to using it. Maybe darken the text a bit, could be my monitor either.

Nice crisp clean site Jon, looks good!

Only thing I would suggest is to do with the Online Shop. For example, if i'm browsing through Beetle parts and I suddenly want to go look at parts for a T25 then I first must go back to the Homepage. I'd suggest making the Vehicle Category List constant on all pages, perhaps down the left handside, or even a drop-down menu at the top. Makes for quicker navigation.

Very nice site love the white lines/scratch marks on the logos and background, to be picky I have to agree about darkening the text but in its current form its perfectly usable

850k of a background image is a bit big and slow to load. Could it be compressed a bit? Looks good though :)

Hey all, Jon's website is getting what we in IT call a "soft launch", or what Google and everyone else these days call a "Beta" launch. It is still work in progress but it has gone live so as Google and all ye good people can start indexing it.

I've cleaned up the categories a lot so navigation should be easier now. We will darken the text slightly. The background image is a monster but very hard to compress. We'll have another shot at this tomorrow. At the moment I think Jon has only a handful of products online, and you can only pay by PayPal. Within a week or two you will be able to pay by Laser and various other means. There are also lots of pages on the site that need some tidying up or a better design. We are working through these one at a time.

This site is going to be the real deal. VWSpares wants to compete with the big boys in the UK and between Jon and I we are going to make that happen. You will before the summer be able to order online in Ireland and in Euro everything you can currently order in the UK. Keep an eye on the site - there are still some strange little quirks but by the end of this week it will be 99% complete.
