Hey Stump. Thanks for posting this, I should have posted before. Here is a wee write up from a great day. There is an NBOC revival up here, Mart and Co have inspired us to get out on epic road trips and get things going again up here. It was great meeting many of you guys at Jumpstart. You guys are inspiring. I will do more to keep you posted on events up north and hopefully get down to an eircooled event again. Aircooled Alliance.
NBOC likes road trips in stunning locations alright!! A great day and looking forward to some pics from the techy folks! What a great way to end our hols in Co Down. Met up with Phillip from Annalong in his original early 90's NI Cal look car - crammed with his dad (legend) Charlie and Phils two girls. Cruised over to Inch Abbey to meet the rest. Inch Abbey is worth a visit and a great free picnic spot (in the sun - oh yes indeed) great to see Geoff (in his trademark cap), Nadine and Daniel out again (video to follow, top man!!). Tracey out again in her incredible Bay - wait till you see this bay at an event soon - the paintwork is something else. New member Chris in his T25 and on and on it goes.

Highlight for me was leading the run in the splittie - looking back and seeing Tracey and bay followed by several T25s, Russ and Lou in the T5 and then the beetles. We needed a T4 to have the full line up of generations of the buses/transporters. Then after all the waves and smiles along Newcastle promenade hitting the Mourne High Loop road - this loop took in the mountains and then down in to Newcastle again along the coast. It must have taken a full hour taking in the scenery allowing for splittie cruising speed and photo stops. I have always wanted to do this in the splittie but to do the Mourne High loop in a vw convoy was great. Then stopped for our end of day chat and BBQ. Great day and in the sun too. Here's to more cruises, campouts, static shows. There is nothing like driving an ole vw and even better meeting up with folks who like driving ole vws.

The best is still to come! Heres to creating more vw memories. See you at the next event.

While we were at Inch Abbey the Game of Thrones Tour bus pulled in and a lot of folks with pale faces got out. Trevor had a good yarn with the bus driver who I think appreciated the change with all our cars - think he fancies giving it a go! There is a GOT organised tour 5 days a week and soon to go 7 days a week. That's mad Ted!

That's better. Glad link worked. And I posted it twice - clueless, clueless, clueless. Now I look a right pratt!

Aye that is my splittie. Its a 64 Cali import, EZ/Sundial camper, restored by Ian @ South West Classic vws by previous owner and then snapped up by me bout 6 years ago one v snowy winter when no one was buying much!! It is a 1600cc single port built by legend Tommy Murray, it can go 60 mph, but you are better going 45mph and I LOVE IT!!! Needless to say I drove the 1500 Java Green beetle to Jumpstart and back! Love driving the splittie all over the north though and camping out of it with the family - heading on a weeks camping up north coast tomorrow in the splittie. Staying at georgeous cushendun.

Anyone interested there is an NBOC campout 21-23rd August at Moorbrook Lodge Castlerock, firepits provided, club house to use, family friendly, stunning area, our own secluded site. ALL WELCOME. Book direct with Moorbrook Lodge (www.moorbrooklodge.co.uk - give them a phone and quote NBOC). Lots happening up here and all dubbers welcome. After I have paypaled and joined eircooled here I will post properly if that ok with the mods.
