Anyone who views this car will know that this has to be one of the best bugs in Ireland. I have been to many shows and have seen very few others in such good condition.
I purchased this VW around 5 years ago in England and it's been a pleasure to own but the time has come to move on and try something different. It's a real head turner and every time I take it out someone stops me to ask about it.
Although I live in London I am from Ireland and have been using it as my runaround when I am back home. Even if I don't use it for a few months it always starts on the button.
I had spent a long time looking for the perfect bug and when I found this one I knew it was worth the wait. The previous owner was an elderly lady who had just passed away. She had owned it for the past 25 years and had only used it twice a week to pop to the shops. Her brother told me that she had always garaged it and it had always been well mentained.
In the time I have owned it no expense has been spared in keeping it in tip top condition. While the car was parked one day some nice person decided to scratch the drivers side with a key. Rather than touching it up I had a bodyshop do a full bare metal respray in 2 pack paint finishing off with a top coat of clear lacquer. This cost me just under 2 grand.
Here is some info:
3 owners from new
63,000 miles from new (I purchased it with 42,000 miles and have always had it serviced by a specialist and garaged when I am not driving it)
Original chrome Blaupnkt radio
Totally original condition with no modifications or alterations
11 months MOT
11 months Tax (it's free anyway)
£4000 stg(Absolutely no offers considered - unless they are for more than 4K !!!)
The car is being stored in Magherafelt and is available for viewing at my parents house.
I don't want selling this bug to be a hassle for my dad so the price I am asking is my final price. Rather than inflating the price to leave room for haggling I have listed this at my bottom price. I have instructed my father not to accept any offers below the asking price and if it doesn't sell then I guess I am going to have a few more years air cooled fun!
I am working in Italy for the next 2 weeks so the best way of getting in contact with me is via email. I'll try and respond as soon as I can. My address is:
arniewatterson@hotmail.com
If you are interested in a viewing I can arrange a suitable time with my father.
Thanks for looking.

Arnie.
