beautiful car had one myself an 89 - my first Merc - drove it into the scrapyard after 17 years on the road it had a serious "oil abuse" problem and the shocks were shot - it had one week left onits NCT so it went into the yard with dignity!!
Had it practically sold, but it fell through. Price drop to €1,000

Yeah, I was 99.9999999% sure it was gone.
The Golf is still tucked up in the garage since it's NCT.
Had a few calls about it but no offers yet.
I'm tempted to keep it, but it really is waste of a good car.
Saw it's twin on Top Gear tonight - Silver '83 GTI Campaign. Lovely
