anyone got one? not looking for a project. I want a good one that'll bolt in and work "out of the box" if you know what I mean...

easily identified by its "6 ribs" around the diff section:

I called him last week, no more available :(

I followed a lead at the weekend and went to see a scrapper bus in Limerick that was reputed to have a 2 litre engine and box. Sadly not so, 1700 :(

So I'm still looking...

I got a call from the wanted ad I put on donedeal. I've found a chap in Carlow/Wicklow border area that says he has one. I'm hopefully going to make the spin tomorrow evening to check if he can count the amount of ribs on it reliably. Fingers crossed it's an elusive 6-rib, nose shift, 2 litre box!!

I've since found out that the type 25 2-litre boxes aren't compatible as the shift rod enters the side of the nose cone, not the end of it like in the bay. Thanks though :)

I was gonna run one of these in the split few years back in another life time seem to recall that some t25 boxes are either nose shift or can be converted to nose shift by swapping nose cone. Could be wrong on this cos the box i had was bay window 6 rib. Give pete @ cogbox a call he'll set you straight

but does the shifter enter the side of the nose cone or the front end of it? I was under the impression that they could be converted until Caddy posted some pictures he took himself of the differences between the two. He reckons (and I'd be inclined to agree going by his pics) that you can't convert a type25 nose (side) shift box to a nose (end) shift configuration...

It enters the front end of it Trev, pic below. I pulled this from an early '79 T25 which had a 2l engine but looking at it again I think it may be from something earlier, possibly a mid '70s bay??? It was covered in lots of crap and I could only take a quick photo with one hand on the camera and the other holding everything off it! I'll pull it out later tonight and get the gearbox numbers of it. Maybe a 002???

it looks like you have a "5-rib" 1800cc 002 transmission John, sure see if you can get the code from it and we'll know more :)

no word from the punter in Carlow/Wicklow. Hopefully he'll get back to me...
