[For Sale: Car] Karmann ghia help needed please

Dear all. For the first time ever I caused a crash yesterday by rear ending a van in my lovely KArmann. I came off the worst as the vans bumper has crumpled the nose on the KG.

i am gutted. The body shop guy this morning thinks it may be a write off. How is the nose put together? I think it is several panels. Am I going to have to get a whole new front?

can anyone recommend a good body shop in Dublin area.

hi james sorry to read of your troubles. depending on the damage it might be best to get a donor nose section from an accident free car.

post up a pic or two so people can get a better idea of the damage.

a few of the traders and member in general on here could be in a position to help you get it mended.

Ghias are hand built from the factory and no 2 are alike. The panels are welded together and as Baz says you are probably better off buying a nose section. Some very talented old school panel beaters can fix anything.

That's not a write off! It still drives so take it to Lawlor's Customs and have Shane do his Magic!

It does not need a clip and it can be pushed out from the inside. Actually take a football and deflate it. Put some wood in the front boot until you can just slide the football in between the nose skin and the wood. Then inflate the football and it will push the nose out. That's not bad at all.

As the boys have said Shane or VW Spares will sort that out in no time. Certainly not a write off by any means.
