So who's up for it? Along the lines of what Coxy has suggested already for Feb and March, meet early enough for breakfast and then go for a cruise somewhere.

Maybe meet in Oranmore early, grab a bite then drive out to Spiddal direction or maybe the other direction to Doolin?

Would the fact that this is Easter Sunday have any plus/minus effect on things?

The idea of an early morning meet as opposed to a midday or afternoon meet is that people can still get back to their families. Also with it being a local meet people shouldn't have to travel too far so could effectively be back at home within a reasonable time so Sunday should suit better than Saturday with traffic I would have thought.

If I was going to this (its a bit of a spin from Portlaoise so I don't know if I'm going or not), But if I was going Saturday or Monday would suit better as I would be playing the organ in the church Easter Sunday Morning.

This is the thing, it's supposed to be convenient for locals only as it's a local event. Anyone outside of the region shouldn't be determining what suits them as there will (hopefully) be a meet in their own area and also a national meet from time to time.

There is an easter egg hunt place in that town that is after Moycullen on the N59 (oughterard maybe?). You could do both.

Ok, general consenus is that Saturday 3rd April seems to suit most people so we should try for that.

So how about...

* Meet at the Maldron Hotel near Oranmore for breakfast, say 09.00am.
* After a bit of breakfast give a drive through Galway city, heading out the Salthill road.
* Brive through Barna and on to Spiddal.
* Take the mountain road from Spiddal to Moycullen.
* Drive from Moycullen back in to Galway city.
* Stop back in Oranmore for coffe if needs be.

Journey time is 63km, about 2hrs giving a bit of time for shite talking along the way.

Crap, this ran away from me a bit. Didn't realise the weekend was coming up as quickly as it did.

Is anyone on for this? Despite the heading on the thread, the run was planned for Saturday the 3rd. I'm planning to head to the Tipp racecourse meet on the 4th April so if there is no interest in the Galway one it might suit to postpone for a week or two?
