I have an 03 MG ZR (plus) that I have to let go as it UK registered and in my opinion not worth VRT'ing for €500. Looking for around €750 as there are few things that need doing but I thought I would post here before putting it on DD next week.
The facts:
03 ZR plus, plus model has electric windows and mirrors
1.8 120 bhp engine, much better than the 1.4 and more reliable than the 160
26,000 miles from new
Owned from almost new by me, I bought off the garage with 23 miles on the clock so I am 2nd owner
The Good:
Mileage - 26k on the clock, it was my marriage break up car as my ex got the BMW I had at the time. After owning for 6 months I have been provided with a company car since so this car was only used for a bit of UK "A" road fun.
Servicing - Full service last year by ex Rover service mechanic, every fluid, new front disc's/pads, new rear pads and timing belt. Also as the engine is the dreaded "K" series that suffers from head gasket failure I changed the gasket to a tough alloy one that will not fail at 50k.
The not so good:
Some minor dents - Front drivers side wheel arch is worst, scuff on front bumper
Sunroof leaking - New seals required, It has developed a leak over the winter and has penetrated the interior so roof lining is a bit damp as is the carpet. Still quite minor though.
Tyres - Needs 2 new tyres due to cracks, still has plenty of tread on though
Rear wash wipe was pulled off by some twat last weekend
The Bad:
I cannot find the v5 (paperwork) anywhere at the moment but its much of an issue as easy to replace.
No MOT/NCT
No tax
Summary
Its a nice car and great fun to drive and as its a tin can and light it really fly's along and holds the road like its on rails. Given the VRT and the issues I think it would make an awesome cheap track day car.
