The roofrack is rubbish, it was a special order by the intended purchaser, they wanted to put the spare wheel up there.
The colour is awful, again a special order by the intended purchaser, he originally tried to talk them out of it after spraying a few panels, but they insisted.
The engine appears to be fine, it starts on the button, i have not driven it so cant comment on brakes, clutch etc. although he said hes done some work on them. The van has not moved for 6 months.
The guy selling the bus owns it and has the tax book, the intended purchaser has never given him a cent towards any of the work so has no claim to the van.
The guy is not particularly a vw fan and is not a perfectionist by any means so you will find fault with the bus, he has used early bay parts in places because he had them available.

this makes 2 campers avail. at a good price and i have sent beetle for resto has any one got six good numbers for lotto i'd buy it & just change bottom colour
good job for me his on other side of country else hugh be sorting my devorce two beetles already--wanted camper & aircooled trike they'll have to wait
at the price you could spray and still have a cheap bus on the road..
or leave it as is, at least you'd be able to find it in a carpark easily enough..
Don't mind the carpark....If you look closely I think I have it actually spotted in Wexford !!!

Spoke to Pat at the weekend and he clarified the following:
Price: He has refused an offer of €2,000, but i think a little more and he would let it go.
Swap/Part exchange: He is trying to make room so not interested.
Work done: He says he has done everthing underneath, brakes, new ball joints, suspension, steering, he also replaced leaf springs in front beam. He has rewired it also, so all electrics working.
