The Clonmel Vintage & Classic Car Club 4th Annual Show is being held at Powerstown Park, Clonmel on May 5th 2013.

Aine Ryan rang from Clonmel to let us know about their show - you may remember seeing Aine who won an award at Barn Bugs & Wags 2 years ago with her stock '71 Beetle. Aine works at Bulmers so anyone passing the plant will see her Beetle parked outside each day but in her leisure time she is the scretary of the Clonmel Vintage & Classic Car Club.

This is some info on the club & show from the chairman:
This year we have committed ourselves to helping Cystic Fibrosis, Heartsave, Alzheimers and our friends in Place 4 U. We also intend doing the small runs for the Vincent de Paul, Meals on Wheels, etc. The May Bank Holiday weekend will again be our main fund raising event with our Vintage Run, Dinner Dance on the Saturday and the Static Display in Powerstown Pak on the Sunday. We are very honoured to have Billy Ryan and his D.K.W. friends in Clonmel to hold their annual meeting and show their beautiful and rare D.K.W. cars at our Show. We are also working with some Morris Clubs in England are confident of having a big Morris display as part of their 100 year celebration.

This is a great show that is run by an enthusiastic young club, which, despite being only three years in existence have raised a staggering €64,000 for charities!

Aine emailed this info through a few mins ago.

There is no entry fee for the static display on the Sunday, when you arrive in the park, you will be given a voucher for refreshments (ie., tea/coffee, sandwiches). There is an entry fee for the Saturday run, which is €25 which gets you tea/coffee on arrival and refreshments and a finishers award.

Clonmel Veteran, Vintage and Classic Car Club are holding this year’s Annual Vintage run and Show on the 4th and 5th May (The Bank Holiday weekend).

The Vintage Run on the Saturday will take off from Hotel Minella, Clonmel and goes through Newcastle over the Knockmealdowns and on to Mount Mellery for a short break before going through Cappaquin and on to the Heritage town of Lismore for midday meal and refreshments. We will take some time to admire some of the historic sights around this beautiful town and do a little browsing at the local market which will be in full swing while we are there.
After taking all that in we will return to Clonmel via the scenic route across the Vee to Clougheen and on to the Minella Hotel where the Club will hold their Dinner Dance to the music of “The Butler Bros”.
On Sunday the 5th, our very successful Static Display, Auction and the Raffle of the 1966 Hillman Imp will take place in Powerstown Park, which is frequently described as the premier venue for such an event with its hardcore walkways through the car display area and its tarmac areas for autojumble, children’s play area, stalls etc.
This year our display promises to be bigger and better than ever with entries already received from the Irish Morris Minor Club and some Morris enthusiasts from Wales who are celebrating 100th birthday of Morris Motor Company. We are delighted to have the DKW Club of Ireland for their annual gathering with us. Both Morris and DKW clubs will add greatly to our run and display.
Last year, thanks to you, the enthusiasts and the support of our sponsors and general attendances, we distributed €20,000 to our selected charities which were Cancer Care, M.S. and Place 4U. This years’ charities, Cystic Fibrosis, Alzheimers, HeartSafe and Place 4U will share all funds raised.
While all our members are busy arranging all details for this weekend, they still find time to organise the Annual Rally in aid of St. Vincent De Paul on 24th March leaving from Clonmel Museum of Transport to Dunsmore East and which should as usual be a very enjoyable event.
For more information on the event, call Michael on 086 8322 471 or Paddy on 087 2216 586.

Minor point, but stationary and auction are mis-spelled in the poster.
