Hi guys still looking for a beetle baz checked one out for me but it needed work to it, really fed up driving my picasso now whch I had to buy on a days notice because my beetle failed its m.o.t and I had to drive to france.

I've been checking all the usual places, ebay, donedeal, classiccarsales.ie classiccarsforsale, carandclassic, volkszone, gumtree but haven't seen anything worth getting yet.

I have €4,500 to spend and I'd really want something that needs nothing for that (I know these will always need something done but I mean structurally and body wise) is that a realistic budget?

So I was wondering if anyone knew a beetle for ale/ toying with the idea of selling one or even just give me other sources other than the ones listed above.

I don't know if this is breaking the trading rules for a non member but I thought it might end up helping a member on here thinking of selling and I promise I'll join the minute I get my car! I'm going to look at this one on saturday http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/vintagecars/4153979 although I'll be looking for a bit knocked off it if it looks good, what do you's think?

Any input would be appreciated.

Yeah, that's Paul's car. It looks really nice so definitely worth a look and the 1641cc motor is a nice touch. You wouldn't build it for that price!

€4,500 is a healthy budget imo, that kind of money should buy you something decent I think. Of course, I always found that the bargins always seem to appear when you are not in a position to buy and there seems to be nothing out there when you have money in your hand :D

Exactly what I'm finding now, they're either shit or overpriced, a lot less showing up for this time of year. So stump owns it? did he not own the white beetle on air that was for sale a wee while ago? A 1641 sounds nice, although paul (the seller) said it was leaking some oil.

Was looking at this one http://www.volkszone.com/VZi/showthread.php?t=797638 but seems too good to be true, would really like to have a look at it but too far away.

BTW I don't just like wrong'uns haha but they seem to be the only ones popping up close to my price range.

Yeah, I spotted that one too and thought it looked well.

At £3,500 it'll cost you €5k landed and taxed etc.

I'd just register it in Northern Ireland and I got a quote of €360 for delivery from England to Derry sorry wouldn't cost much to get it here. It's just a big gamble not having seen it though.

Ok, that's €4,725 delivered then (assuming £3,500).

EDIT: Sorry, I though it was in Newcastle, didn't realise Newcastle-Under-Lyme is in Stoke. You could push that home.

Might do that Justin thanks, Robbie I saw your dads 1303s at that aircooled show round 3/4 saturdays ago, looked great but sorry I'm not really big on the 03's. I'm not really picky though on having an early or late beetle though (I really like the 1302's) both look great in their own way I think and my money will probably go further with a late beetle.
