Just testing the water to see if their is any intrest out there in people getting their vans converted to Diesel.

That engine is from a '94 passat, a golf of that vintage would be more like AHU / AHN.

Ball park is a bit difficult because there are so many options, t25 bell house / sump, kennedy plate, not mention the endless amount of engines,

If you give me a shout I can run trough a few options and get an exact costing for ya.

None of them bolt straight to a bay gear box. That engine is fine, is it a pd engine? Needless to say tdi works out more expensive because of needing to de-imobilise them as well as making up a wiring loom for them and the extra complication of the inter cooler.
So if it's cheap with less complications you want, you need a 1y(1.9 n/a indirect injection 60 bhp)
If its fun times you want for a little more money, you 'll want 130bhp tdi ( direct injection)

I already have a 100bhp 1.9 TDi, but it's in a car, and I have no interest in taxing and NCTing etc. it for the foreseeable future.. ;)
