[Wanted: Parts] Alternator wanted for 65 bug??

'65s didn't come with alternators. Do you mean a generator/dynamo? Or was it converted to 12V and fitted with an alternator? I can't help you but clarifying the request might save you from paying for the wrong part

Trev, the engine for that car is a 1600 from a later car. Although I think it has a dynamo fitted on it. Am I right in thinking that a dynamo is basically a skinnier version of an alternator?

Shane, have you a photo of the engine? I've checked but I don't have any.

Shane's looking an alternator to replace his dead dynamo, better for bigger radio etc,

He'll likely need a different backing plate, alt pedestal and possibly fuel pump as well

Yep but I should have those bits. Just no alt
