1974 UK import
Excellent quality Day mouldings fiberglass wings, with earlier tombstone tail lamps
Rear pop-outs
Resprayed in Fiat Azurro blue
Sound deadening fitted on floors and interior panels
Good quality bumpers with not so good (rare) EMPI over-riders
Genuine Hella glass/lenses all round including clear wing-top indicators
Wolfsburg West window rubber and trim
CSP ball/butterfly short shifter
Original black basket weave seats
Spirit of the '50s carpet
TMI black door panels with map pockets
GT wheel with period leather cover
Original floor mats
Heated rear screen
Flip face CD player

Engine
Rebuilt 1600cc with 040 heads.
Heads fitted with new guides, 3 angle valve job and some mild porting
Dellorto DRLA 40 carbs with CB manifolds, filter and linkage
Bosch 009 with Petronix ignitor module and coil
Original tinware powder coated in satin black
Twin quiet pack exhaust, Pheonix stainless steel or Bugpack mild black (better fit)
Sounds great, and driving it is a lot of fun.

Have just fitted new K&N filters and a new battery.

Suspension
Puma adjustable beam (with caster chims)
CB Performance dropped spindles
AVO adjustable shocks

Wheels/brakes
SSP Fuchs replicas, 4.5" and 5.5" hand prepped, acid etched, masked and detailed with ISP West center caps - the good ones, caps and wheels.
205/70 Bridgstone Duelers and 135 Nankangs with 90% tread
Porsche pattern discs and drums, discs cross-drilled, 4mm spacers on rear

Bad bits
Paint does need attention in a couple of areas, bonnet and seal strip, nose and front quarter seams, no serious rot, just a little crusty.
Pop-outs can leak if not closed tightly.
Running boards are a bit shite.
Over-riders need to be re-chromed.

A solid, honest, beetle with a few nice bits. Could be a great beetle, with a little attention.

SOLD SOLD SOLD SO OLD SOLD

Jeez, Ned really rattled you if you're selling up:p

On the upside, Tonyvw, now is your chance to buy the blue streak and get to any show, anywhere before everyone else!

Go for it Tony, you know it makes sense (y)

Did I see this bug on the flyover in carrigtohill during the week?

Yep. I was using it daily last week, and work just outside Carrig.
