one and the same.
was told about the car by his brother who is my mothers neighbour,
when i went to see it the owner(cant remember his name for the life of me) told me he had taken a deposit on the car and was waiting for the fella to come to collect,
i found out by his nephew that he had taken the deposit several years before i went to see it.very honest the whole family are.
after three or four weeks i got a call saying the wife wanted it gone and had called a scrap dealer to take it so if i wanted it to come and get it,
it took four of us around 3 hours to get it on the trailer(no winch).

anyway, if anyone wants to make an offer ill listen.
cheers

... fair playDonie; looks like you saved it from fizzling completely, out in the open, as it was - I thought the 'scrap fairies' had it away, as I thought the house was unoccupied; you gave the aul girl shelter for a few years...

i mite try donedeal and adverts, after that its getting torn asunder and thrown away.
i have it up for 500e but im willing to listen to offers on it.

I'm amazed nobody has bought this for parts. The 1600 engine, IRS gearbox and all the IRS parts, the bigger back drums etc are all well worth the asking price. Then flog the rest of the parts from it on eBay or one of the uk forums. Be hard to lose on the investment.

Aww somebody save this, ok it's fooked but what a colour! If i didnt have too many other heaps (and didnt live at the other end of the country) i'd grab it! Would make a great drag car if nothing else!

Yes its crusty, Its an unrestored, Type3 for 500 notes; what do folk expect in 2017- looks like its never had a welding patch in its life- some folk prefer to start with cars like this, as bad as it is; you could buy one outta the Uk with many many thick yearly Mot patches for about 4 times the price your asking, shiney ontop, but full of filler; all the time involved ripping all that lot out- its an original Irish reg type3 variant; surly someone would take it on - price seems very realistic/fair IMO, n you've taken comprehensive pics of the bad bits...

Unfortunately market forces set the price on these, not what anyone thinks its worth. Things like few panels available, and expensive at that, put most off.
I hope someone is brave enough to take this on, but I couldn,t get any interest or offer here for mine when I was selling it, and it was a far better car with 2 logbooks
and 2 floorpans.
Might be time to throw it out on donedeal for resto or parting out, as I dont see any interest here for it. I know of 3 restorations going on these at the moment, so i,ll
touch base with them on this.

As no other interest has been made, I,ll express my interest on the gearbox and engine if you have no offers on donedeal or here.

Anyone else .......

Am I right in thinking you,ve had no takers, despite the apparent enthusiasm here.

If so , and its now a scrapper, I have some contacts that would be interested in parts.

So give us the heads up.Thanks

If not, and you,ve sold it, well done.

Anyone not interested in this car should butt out. This thread is not for comments about anything else, bar buying this vehicle.
Either put up, or get out.

I,m interested in parts of this car, and I,ve said as much, and dont have to justify myself to anyone. If anyone wants it, then buy it.
I am having ongoing discussions with the owner about buying parts I,m interested in, as well as organising other fasty owners to do likewise.

If he wants me to stop any investigation on moving this, then its up to him to say he is not interested in parting it out to me. Not you chaps.

So butt out thread spoilers please.

What parts are you interested in Duts, I assume thats why you are here.
I,m interested in the engine and gearbox.
Dan in Wexford may be interested in Full or partial roof cuts, or whole car.
Noel in Mallorca is interested in both inner bulkheads and front bonnet.

JJ in Cork who is restoring a fasty and a notch is not interested in any parts at the moment.
And i,ve outlined some of the more valuable parts left for the OP

So if you are not interested then will you stop thread spoiling and go away ....please, you are not doing yourself any favours at this.

apologies in getting back to this,
cheers for the comments, it a pity that i was a slow mover, but to be honest it would take a very brave man to take it on.
i appreciate the effort you've put in tim, i wouldve been sad to part it but as you said it is very nearly a parts car.
fortunately, after putting it on done deal ive had a call or two from fellas round the country to take it complete,
ill wait to see if they take it and if not ill get the consaw out.
cheers again guys.
