Hi Guys
The 3rd VW Spares Barn, Bugs and Wags, will be held on the 27th/28thof October in my wife's parents indoor arena located in Castledermot next to VWSpares. Once again it will be on the Halloween bank holiday weekend. Everyone welcome after 4pm on Saturday for a camp over and a bit of a party. Show will finish on Sunday around 5ish, no real set time. The show will start at 10am on Sunday just to give the guys on Saturday night time to recover.
There will be a Free BBQ on Saturday night and also on Sunday lunch time. Notsure what's on the menu yet, but burgers & sausages will be on offer. Youare also more than welcome to bring your own.
I think the DJ idea worked well last year and will try to do the same thing again this year.
It is Halloween weekend, so if anyone is brave enough to dress up, please do,in fact I will give a €50 gift voucher to the best costume on the night.
As per last year there is no entry fee. Tea and coffee will be provided allweekend but you will need to bring your own alcohol/drinks.
Going to have a swap-meet again so everyone is welcome to bring their bits andpieces.
As per last year, every vehicle that turns up will automatically enter the competitions. VW Spares will have trophies for Best Van/Camperand Best Beetle/Car. It would be great if Brian (Eircooled) can produce another fantastic trophy.
Once again this year we will also have a People’s choice award, where everyonegets a vote and whoever gets the most votes wins. With this trophy there willbe a €100 VW Spares gift voucher. This will work by everyone registering a votewith Jackie. My wife has a very good memory, so no double voting. The awardswill be done at 4 pm on Sunday. Last year there was some Euro Vision blockvoting going on, so might have to change the rules a little bit. Any ideas?
Anyone wants anything ordered for show as in Parts just give me a shout, and theshop is only fifty feet away.
There is a toilet block provided and we might be able to sort out some outdoor camping if that suits. The arena will hold about 50 vehicals, maybe more if Ican get the art of packing them in this year, but we do have room for any extraoutside. I think we had 64 beetles and vans last year, it would be nice if wecan beat it this year.
Now the boring stuff, The event is held on a farm where there is livestock andneighbours, so we do need to keep them on side to keep this event going. Asthis event is free, we don't need insurance, so attendance is at your own riskbut we will need everyone to sign an indemnity form to clear the owners (i.e.Jackie's parents) of any liability in case of personal injury etc.
