bit far from me unfortunately! but a great idea.

Think a lot of people are just a little bit afraid of the air cooled engine, the fact that not too many garages know what they are etc or how to service em properly ](*,) :-s :? :help:

I won't be working on the bus needless to say - so only 4 cars - that is plenty me thinks - we will have more of these if it goes well anyways :) Hopefully someone else will volunteer as well as Tom & Eamonn or they will be busy men :) Maybe as he teaches us we can pass on the knowledge - although that could be like mechanical Chinese whispers

TWO PLACES FREE ON THIS NOW

Due to Hugh and Timesnap having unexpected other plans there are two free places. This is a great opportunity to learn about car engines and servicing in general - and especially VW air-cooled. It is free - if you can't make it let someone else know - we really want to get 5 or 6 people for this so as we can make it worth the time Tom & Eamonn have put into preparing for it. We will be doing more workshops during the year, but we might not get back to servicing your VW engine until 2008, so make the effort while you can (and while it is free).

Excellent workshop, great to meet everyone. Thanks especially to Tom and Eamonn for the knowledge and Claire for the hospitality. I reckon I could change a carburetor blindfolded with one arm tied behind my back.
Looking forward to the next one!!

^^^^^ Officially a VW Beetle!!!!!!! What a cool trike

Thanks a million Tom, Claire, Eamonn - that was a great day - learned a lot - yes esp. about carbs!!! I really didn't think I would come away knowing how to clean and rebuild one - very cool. Neither did I know that oil was required in two places in my engine!! Jasus! I even felt inspired to go home and take off the wheel of my golf and try and fix that feckin sticking brake for once and for all - didn't work, but it was fun trying in the dark!!
