I was speaking with the meetings & events people in the Killeshin Hotel today and they asked if you guys are interested in coming back this January for the 2012 AGM and if so they would welcome the opportunity to quote again.

Now i'm open to be corrected but was there not a problem we were supposed to eating at one but the meetin was only startin at one so they wanted us in and out asap felt like they were standing over us waitin to finish so they could get the fuck out of there. Thats how i felt anyway. Wasn't a big thing but some other people might have felt different about it. I know a lad that works there think he's a manager of some description could always have a chat with him on a price if it comes back to there again. No pressure though!!LOL

Not great for those with hi-tops :p. When I went down to the carpark later to look at the cars they were scattered all over the place. Even though it was cold standing in the car park at the Midway hotel the year before at least all the cars could park together and make it actually feel like a meet. Everyone hung about and had a chat/look at each others cars. There was a good vibe as we hung outside to see who was arriving and in what. Last year had none of that.

I liked last year, but did prefer Portlaoise....how about something cool. Like the castle PJ brought us to......

Id agree that the midway agm two years ago felt more like a meet all the cars were together. In the Killeshin some cars were in the underground car park and some were parked at the front, I never even seen the ones in the underground car park. If its going to be in Portlaoise for 2012 the midway would get my vote.

@ Mikey.... Regarding that castle we went to last year.... It's a bit early for weather forecasting but if there was snow the mountain road would be impassable and the alternative routes are all back roads. Portlaoise is good because for most people as its nearly all motorway or main roads which are less likely to be affected by bad weather.

I don't care where it is so long as you don't mention "coxy" as often as you did last January. :D (did not know who that was as I had just joined)
For newbies like myself perhaps you might consider some gesture towards introductions / welcomes?
I was all ready to stand up and say: "anyone selling a car?" but did not get the chance :(

To be fair to the members north of Portlaois maybe we should look at alternative central places like the Landmark Hotel in Carrick on Shannon co. Leitrim, The Quinn Kilmore hotel on the N3 on the way into Cavan Town or the Hodson Bay Hotel by the lake in Athlone N61. We,ve been in Portlaoise twice now time for a change!
