Trev sold a Beetle on ebay last week so he'll be able to tell you what to do.
Everything is selling a little slower at the moment but still selling all the same. Put up as many pics as you can showing the usual rust traps - the underside of the floor, door pillars, heater channels etc. That way, people can make their mind up whether this is the car for them.

I wouldn't say I sold it, it's still here, no response from the buyer. :(

anyway, it's hard to tell when you're listing it but from what I could make out I think there's a flat rate of €9 to sell a car on ebay.ie and if you take payment or a deposit by paypal, they take 3%...

2.5k is a lot of money in todays climate if the floor needs to be done and I'm also presuming there is more welding needed......they all do so if you have to flog it on quickly you don't have the luxury of holding out for a good price. Drop the price and let it go. At the end of the day the car is a restoration project and not a daily driver.

I couldn't say without seeing what the car is like..........of course that's no help to you!
If you advertise it for around €1500 you'll get lots of interest and may lead to a quick sale which is what you want/need. Again, without seeing it I can't really say.

hi aid, ebay can be great sometimes for moving things on fast but i would be asking for deposit in order to get rid of the time wasters and tyre kickers. you do need however to take some more recent photos of the car showing todays condition. i would also take photos of the floor pan and heater channels stressing that serious work needs doing in these area's. definatley pan replacement required immediatley on the drivers side, can't remember now how bad the passenger side was. there is quite a lot of work need doing and the car won't be seeing road in the near future. you need to advertise it stricly as a project car and not as a daily runner. if you dont supply all this information and photos and take a deposit on ebay, people will only be looking for their deposit back after seeing it and make a neg feedback on ebay for you. as for a correct value on the car, give me a quick phone call and i'll put you in the right direction, wouldn't like to put it on a public forum. i bought the one we spoke about that was in cork yesterday so i'm sorted now. give me a quick shout and i will put you in the right direction. best of luck.
