I just bought a car some 2 months ago but am afraid I cannot keep it. Things looked good at first and the previous owner had been driving it without noticing these issues, too, but when I got it checked out by Leo in Dublin it turned out that there are actually a number of things that need fixing and...to be quite honest, I am far from having that extra cash and time for the car. This is a bit sad because it's a pretty cool car. I advertised it on Donedeal and Gumtree, but thought it might be a good idea to also advertise it here, since this is the ideal place for vintage car lovers.
Those of you who are from Dublin or around might recognise it from the pictures, it's the green Beetle that had been parked in Upper Rathmines Road for decades.
It drives well and didn't make any problems, the only thing I noticed was that it often wouldn't start unless I refill oil regularly because it looses oil. When Leo checked it he said that it seems to also loose petrol (I hadnt noticed) and that the brakes and clutch need to be fixed or at best be replaced.
Lets phrase it this way, I had a shitty rest of the day after these news because I don't have the money, nor the skills to get these things fixed so I guess it would be better suited in the hands of someone who knows how to deal with this beautiful car.
I put it up for 2000 Euros at the moment but that price is nogotiable of course. To be quite honest, I am just hoping to get back the money that I paid for it originally so I am willing to drop the price a bit if someone is interested.
