This is the second time I've posted this ad. I hope I didn't do something wrong the first time, it was here then vanished. I so frustrated I'll post a condensed

version. Rust in both rockers, front floors and around the back corner where the battery tray meets the body. Battery tray is fine though. Nose is perfect, front windows have no rust under them, long panel on drivers side is very straight with a small dent down low on the sill/rocker which will be replaced anyway. I have FUNKY GREEN replacement panels for the front floors and the cargo sill, inner, outer, and strengthener. No engine and I'd guess the trans is OK since the engine was inside in pieces and it towed home 300 miles very nicely. Lunch but I'll post more pictures in 20 min.

Found it in the Arena! Darn I must have posted to the wrong place. Here's what I wrote and I'll try to get the pictures moved over as well.

This is the Splitty that everyone has been asking for pictures of. It has rust in the cab floors, both rockers, and just some around the outside of the Battery tray, but the battery tray is fine. I have funky Green repair panels for the cab floors, and passenger inner, outer and strengthener Rocker, I don't have the drivers side rocker. Having said that the drip rails are straight as an arrow as is the nose, very nice, the long panel on the drivers side is also very straight except for a dent in the rocker which you'll want to replace anyhow. The dash is complete with all of the switches and knobs and gauges. It has a front towel rail bumper but no rear bumper ( I'll be looking for 1 at the BugOrama next weekend and a friend may also have 1). It has a dent in the rear hatch. In some of the pictures there was silicone around the 6 Pop Out windows ( long Spoons) which I have cleaned off. The front windshields are clean and crack or chip or scratch free. The Humpback front seat is there with just 1 seam split and it has retractable seatbelts mounted in the front. This bus has no engine and I don't know the condition of the drive train ( I did tow it 300 miles and it tracked true with no issues). The roof has no dents and the rain gutters has some surface rust but very light and nbo through rust, very solid metal. No rust that I can see around the front windshields. All of the rubber seals are perished.
Someone made a Parade Bus and painted it like a Spam can, I bare metaled the nose and passenger side, then put some buildable primer on it ( the Red bits), when I got it out to sell I noticed some light rust starting to form where the primer was thin so I sanded it and had some Blue paint left over from an earlier project ( without enough reducer so it went on very thick) that I shot on just to protect the metal. It's going to need to be taken off and repainted anyway but it made it easier to see any flaws in the body being 1 color on the bottom. knk has first right of refusal for 1 more day then please PM me any offers or requests. I'm firm on the price but would take a small Polo 1.0 ltr or a TDI golf as part trade. Thanks for looking and sorry it took awhile to get these pictures up. The first lot of pictures is how it looks now, then you'll see it bare metal and then Red primer then Dark Blue as I got it.
Oh Hell just go to the Arena to look at the rest of the Damn pictures! PITA Computer!

The original post seems to have headed down to the arena - did you leave the handbrake off?

That would be right...I am the lucky one! (y)

Was looking hard for one which suited me for about a year and over the last month or two I kinda gave up looking but then this came along! Happy Days. :drinkbeer:

Fair play to you - its gone to a good home.

Can't help but be just a bit jealous though :ROFLMAO:

Nice bus...have been watching its developments over the years...but not what I've got planned! :)

In 'great shape', but will that shape resemble a split?

PS ... does this mean i can have my 2CV back? .... nice purchase John!

Thanks Michael...subtle body mods for this one, so will still resemble a splitty! ;)

Oh you mean this 2CV?

:ROFLMAO:...he'll appreciate it when its back on the road! ;)

As usual, a lot more rust than it looked, but its all in places thats getting dumped. The worst of it is the vent below the windscreen, so I'm thinking when I chop it that I'll drop the windscreen down lower replacing the vent.

The donor chassis was a real pain to get off the trailer! I should of borrowed that forks, would of made life much easier. :D
