Amazing, a genuine rhd Irish 356A Carrera GS...

356 Carrera's are considered the among the best of the best of the 356 family with their four-cam engines, GT brakes, etc. Never realised this car lived in Ireland or had the history it did...

That's some history, a great read.

It's got to be the ultimate 356.... and it's Irish. Let's hope it stays in the country, doubt it though.

as I read your thread I was thinking "It must have been someone pretty well-heeled to buy that back in '58" then I read the auction blurb. Makes sense!

some car, some history. It would be nice to see it stay in Ireland but the punters with that kind of money to spend are afraid to spnd it in case NAMA nab them!!

I remember seeing a 356 coupe from afar in Hospital once, it was white over black. I presumed at the time the black was to hide the rot...

Oh yeah, it sold about 6 - 8 years back I would say. I remember meeting the guy that had it just after it was sold a few months previously. I have NEVER seen a house with more clocks on the walls then there. Guy was nice but real old and required to drag a trolley with an oxygen tank around.
