1958 Bug for Sale

Hi Everyone

I have for sale my beautiful 1958 Cal look Bug, with 69,600 miles on the clock. She has had a full Body off Resto and I have all the photos of the different stages.
She has a 1641cc engine with high lift Cam and Twin 40 Carbs, recently reset. i fitted a new Twin chrome exhaust last year and put heat exchangers in as there was none in the car when I bought her. Also fitted a fuel guage.

She also have 5 spoke empis and Quick shift Scat shifter. I also fitted side aerial and new wing mirrors. Car has been lowered but is a pleasure to drive. She starts every turn of the key and is a real head turner because of her colour. She is light metallic green with a "flip" in the paint so that when the sun shines on her she appears to be gold in colour.

Carpet inside is good quality heavy cream woven and headcloth is mohair and is immaculate. I have changed the two front seats to dark grey leather sports seats but back seat is origianl. She is fitted with lap belts in the front and one in the back. The only thing she needs is a new set of door cards as the old ones were warped badly.

As for the body work on the car she is exceptional. No rust bubbles anywhere, although there is a couple of small paintwork blemishes on the back drivers archm, but this is no way detracts from the car. Mot expires next month but she breezed through last year.

I currently have her advertised on e-bay but would much prefer to sell her to someone with a genuine love of the bug. I cannot give her the time she deserves as my time is all taken up with a new lady in my life, my 3year old.

For a car in this condition and this age I would be looking £4250.00 as I know what i paid for her last year and also taking into account work that has been done on her, but am open to sensible offers You can contact me here or by e-mail at tracey.sherman@yahoo.co.uk

Thanks

ps meant to say that reg. has been valued by 3 independent companies between £1500-£1850

Just wondering what the wire on the floor is from?

Do you have a code for the paint colour? or a match ?

the cable on the floor is speaker cable for the cd player. The colour of the car is Nissan Olive.

She is dry stored at the minute so I will see if i can get a few more pictures of her. I have a couple of picture here of the engine bay so I will post them for you. Think she was restored 5-6 years ago, but would need to check through the paperwork and bits and pieces I have for her.

i will post these couple of pics and try and get a few more for you.

Did Nissan Olive have a Flip in it or was it added?

Do you know what the flip is - or it would be difficult to match.

Think flip was added, but any good colourshop should be able to match paint. When I was getting heat exchangers put in with the beetle man he told me that Givrans in newry was the best around for matching paint.

I have taken a few more pictures of the car and Ill post them now for you. Cant do anything more. Car is here if anyone wants to take a look at it.

sorry could only upload 5 pics but there are a few more on e-bay is you want to have a look

Where have you mounted the fuel gauge...cant see it in the photos.
Are the mirrors drilled through the doors or mounted on the hinges?

Thanks sorry for the questions

Fuel guage is mounted in a pod under the dash at the left hand side of the steering wheel. It was got last year from vw heritage, its a black 52mm guage bought along with tank sender.

mirrors are attached to the doors, not through the hinges.

Thanks

Lovely Car very interested

Will it come with fresh MOT?
Would you be interested in selling with out the number plate?

Whats that thing infront of the fuel tank with the wires comming out of it?

Does it have disk brakes?
Is there an adjustable beam or dropped spindles or both?
Is there door and wiper handles with the car?
Do the indiicators flash?

Does everything work ?

Sorry for all the questions.

Cheers Mac

Am selling it now without MOT, but it breezed through last year no probs. I have set of air horns installed at the front of the fuel tank, which is probably the bit that you have caught. Obviously these will be coming out.

Car is selling at same price with or without the number plate, it is only an added bonus to anyone that is interested in the number.

it has disc brakes and adjustable beam on the front, which I actually got put up slightly last year. By door and wiper handles, i take it you mean inside, if so then yes, I have all door and window handles, just not fitted on inside at the minute as, as i said, needs new door cards. Everything works fine, this is a daily driver for me, through the summer months of course. She has been garaged from last September.
