Thanks. Have to ask though.... the best stock beetle engine... in what regard...?

Am looking for a rebuild project for over the winter maybe, just to keep me occupied. I have a 1200 in the Marathon which is off being restored and she'll be staying stock. I also have a 1300 out of my 1302 'project' which I could convert easily enough to 1600 or perhaps look at yours.... decisions, decisions......

Convince me of the benefits of the 1500...! Coz I have the 1300 in my garage and I'd have to drive to Kildare for yours....! :)

I've been told that too - a simple engine but bullet proof.
Great amount of power, no overheating issues, excellent MPG.

I really like the 1500 engine but you can easily build it up to a 1776.
